My goal for this blog is to summarize and reflect on some of what I'm learning in the Online / eLearning Instruction Certificate program at Vancouver Community College. I also want to become more familiar with the blogging process as I may want to use it as part of the courses I teach in the future. I believe the more I'm able to contribute to my blog, the more comfortable I'll become doing it. It also seems like a great way to collect all of my thoughts on teaching in one place. I occasionally read personal blogs as well as instructors' blogs and I appreciate the writers' sharing their thoughts. What is an e-portfolio? E-Portfolios are personal websites that can be used to demonstrate the learning of students and can therefore be useful as a means of assessing their learning. They also have the potential to enhance the learning process. Professional e-Portfolios be used by professionals to illustrate their philosophy, skills and accomplishments.
